Beschreibung:
Kalliopi Lemos is a Greek sculptor, painter and installation artist based in London. Lemos studied at the Byam Shaw School of Art and Central Saint Martins, where she pursued post-graduate studies. Central themes of Lemos’ work include the narrative of journeys, displacement and the politics of forced migration.0This book documents a series of exhibitions of Lemos’ work at three international venues: Benaki Museum, Athens, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Crete, Rethymnon and the Crypt of St Pancras Church, London. The three exhibitions were a culmination of Lemos’ work over the past ten years, each exhibiting large-scale installations exploring themes of physical and spiritual migration. Navigating in the Dark presents full-colour images of the installations, depicting them alongside each other for the first time. 0Exhibition: Benaki Museum, Athens, Greece (2011) / Museum of Contemporary Art of Crete, Rethymnon, Greece (2011) / Crypt of St Pancras Church, London, UK (2011)
