Joke Van den Heuvel creates images by using existing footage that fascinate her: the shattered metacarpals of Michelangelo?s Piëta, the hand of a girl by Rodin, hands of begging Greek citizens in the middle of the Greek crisis. During her stay in Rome, Joke Van den Heuvel, discovers the image of Bernini: The abduction of Proserpina. In the meantime she reads The Book of Disquiet by Fernando Pessoa.
